[Current mood: reminiscent]
[Current song: Mr Children - Gift]
It's 10pm sharp now, exactly 2 hours away to a brand new 2009.
Today being the last day of 2008, made me recall what I had been doing and the many events that took place this past year...
Early April this year was a new start for me with regard to a change of environment.
I moved out of my 3 room apartment which held many good old memories, and into a brand new 4 room apartment just 1 street away.
I was really reluctant in moving out because I had been living there for the past 18 years.
Furthermore, my grandparents lived just next door and there were countless of memories spent with them since I was born.
The many birthday celebrations with them, the many special occasions spent with them and of course, the nights that we shared when I would always move my things over to their house during holidays and weekends, just to be closer to them.
The whole extended family, i.e cousins, uncles, aunts, would always visit and have gatherings in my grandparents' house.
I used to love it because it was a good way to bond the family together.
Late June this year was a devastating month for my family due to my grand mum's demise.
She suffered from a second stroke and passed away a few weeks after.
Sadly, her demise tore the family apart.
Relatives not as close as before and a family dispute happened, which made me thought " looks are really deceiving".
Her, choosing 'money over kinship' really disappoints me.
Ironically, this dispute, in a way, bonded some family members together as they would meet up often for gossips.
Of course, I did not really enjoy this year's birthday as much as the previous years, considering the fact that my birthday was only 2-3 weeks after my grand mum's demise.
However, surprises along the way did cheer me up.
1st surprise: My dear cousin and Saretta with their brownie surprise during 1st breakout.
2nd surprise: My E56E girls and their cheesecake surprise during 2nd breakout.
3rd surprise: My lovely bouquet of blue flowers by Eneida, Jas and the rest (I was really happy that it was blue! Thanks for taking note of my favourite color. Haha) *And this incident made the class associate me with YSM, no thanks to Taufiq and his dumb comment*
4th surprise: Mango cake surprise from Pam, Esther and Helicia during dinner.
5th surprise: Embarrassing birthday song sang at Fish & Co with W16K peeps.
It's definitely the first time I've had so many surprises for my birthday.
Thanks you guys for making my 19th birthday a special one:)
And not forgetting that very rainy night, staring out of the window, realising I was a complete fool.
I couldn't believe I did that too.
Silly me.
So much for 2008.
A year filled with laughter, joy, tears and sadness.
May 2009 be a fruitful one next year.
Happy New Year!
Tmr's Damion's big day - his wedding.
I can't believe I went to this extent to prepare for his wedding.
And I've to wake up super early, so I've decided not to countdown for this year.
Next year, probably.
I hope dad doesn't embarrass me tomorrow during the wedding dinner *crosses fingers*
