Woke up early this morning to prepare for the long day ahead. Headed to the temple at Toa Payoh to pay respects to my grandparents. After that, we went home to rest for awhile before heading to my eldest uncle's home at Boon Lay for reunion dinner.
Sure, dinner was fun with the gathering of relatives and all. However, deep down, I really felt that something was missing from this heartwarming reunion. This is the first reunion dinner that I ever had without my grandparents. Usually their presence would make things much more lively and hearty. Them, not being at the table making cheerful comments and jokes as usual, made me a bit gloomy. CNY wasn't the same as before without them around. Then again, we all have to move on with our lives right?
Apart from this, today's dinner also made me realise that I tend to trust people too easily. After some advice from my aunt, I felt that some things might not be that simple after all. I really do appreciate the concern shown. She hasn't done anything to me yet but I can't predict what's gonna happen in the future. Maybe I really have to start watching my back.
And of course, it was my dearest kar cheng's birthday today! Happy 19th birthday! One year older, yeah?
