Somehow, on my way to school this morning, my thoughts suddenly flashback to the days spent with you two.
I suddenly remembered how I used to sleepover and was awoken by his very old radio's wake up calls - the sounds of a rooster greeting the coming dawn, followed by standard commercials which would be replayed at different intervals.
And the first thing I saw when I woke up, would be the thin old blanket that she used to cover me up every morning before she got up for her daily routine.
And then, I would spend some time watching cartoons, waiting for her to return from the market with groceries and breakfast.
Haha, and the times I complained how horrible his food tasted when compared to hers (it was a lie, i miss your cooking).
And of course, the times when he vacuumed the floor and used the vaccum cleaner to suck my hair in at the same time (now that I think of it, it's gross!)
How could I forget the times when she always laid there browsing through her calendar, taking down her personal notes while thinking of what numbers to bet on.
And the many times both of you persuaded my parents to be less strict with me - I appreciated that.
Haha, and his daily dose of 9pm animal documentaries that he would never fail to watch every night.
Plus the daily dinners with the both of you - I miss the times where he would come over to my house, banging on the windows or shouting into my house, informing me and my parents that dinner was ready.
Dinners during those years were much cosier as compared to now because the both of you made it so lively.
Oh, and the many special occasions we celebrated together with the whole family - birthdays, CNYs, Christmases, etc.
But after he left, things changed slightly.
And after the mishap which changed her life totally, things started going downhill.
Now that she's gone, things have changed completely.
You two were what held the whole family together back then.
I miss you, ah kong and ah ma.
